You understand all of those are downstream from philosophy and politics right? You’re saying you want to get out of the pool, but that’s a lie. You wanna swim in the kiddie pool, but you still want to swim.
And that’s OK. It’s OK to be a brainlet.

Maybe if you become historic. Probably gonna think you're awkward too even if you do though.

Good anon, you're finally on the right path. Political theory especially is useless. The world is an Oligarchy, you do not matter and cannot influence anything. At least with fiction, poetry and theology you can find beauty in the world.

>> No.18182335

>>18179546
You need to study philosophy to understand theology as well as to fully appreciate poetry. A lot of baroque poets incorporate platonic and aristotelean themes that will just fly over your head for instance.

>>18182335
To be fair, Hesiod flew over Plato's head long before that.

Philosophy predates theology. It's also a tool theologians use.

NTA, but if we're going to get technical about this, philosophy is fundamentally just applied logical thought and so is inherent to the way our brains operate (as is religious thought). If you're saying that the -formalization- of philosophical thinking came after the formalization of religious thinking, I'd agree... However, in terms of which capacity crystallized first, I would point to simpler animals that are able to tackle some logical problems but display nothing resembling religious behaviour (which is a more complex and highly socialized manifestation of certain capacities like attributing intentionality). If anything, religious thinking is a warped and half-assed kind of logic used to placate our psychological conceits and compensate for lack of understanding.

Good, this is what philosophy leads you back to anyway
