I like to read around 5 or 6 non fiction books at a time. I will read carefully and sometimes take notes but I don't usually read more than a chapter or two of each of them a day

Is this bad for reading comprehension the subjects tend to be different so I don't see confusing the topic being an issue?

Nah it's fine.

Just make sure you finish the book and write a conclusion for your thoughts. Even if you revisit and decide to alter your opinion, you've at least put effort into it.

For me, it's Barnes and Noble. The best book store and coffee shop. I even ask for extra or otherwise unsellable copies of books I already own and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for Infinite Jest and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly Barnes and Noble worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!". It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local Barnes and Noble book store and coffee shop, I go there at least 3 times a week to glimpse through the young adult section, 1-2 times for rereleases of G.R.R. Martin's the song of ice and fire series on the weekend, and maybe once in the evening to read what's on display when I'm in a rush but want a goodreads approved book that is affordable, not too deep, and can match my daily literary needs.

I even get a cinnabon brand muffin and a coffee, it's delicious! What a great bookstore.
