Apparently my little sister read him when she was 13, but didn't realise he was an important author at all.

universally underrated. Most people read L'Étranger in high school or sit through an undergrad lecture about The Absurd™ and then view themselves as experts on Camusian thought when that couldn't be further from the truth. But at least these people have engaged with Camus in some capacity, on /lit/ he's simply reviled due to his popularity and appeal. If you are larping as a sophisticated intellectual, name dropping Camus doesn't do you any good and so he is not contended with but instead replaced with shittier more obscure philosophers who help cement the larp.

The Rebel is an unbelievably good read. Albert dunks on commies, revolutionaries and even dedicates a chapter to calling the nazi's a bunch of nihilists who just wanted to let the world burn.

The Plague bro. Actually good novelist. Sartre can go fuck himself.
