Thinking about getting this. When it came out it had a Jewish price for some brick of a book so I read it in PDF and hated it (not the PDF, the book)

How does it hold on second reading?

If you hated it why do you think is going to get better. Read a better book. My aunt gave me a box with all her game of thrones books and I've never touched them

It's much better even Daenery's chapters didn't feel boring but my main problem with ADWD was with the Essos stuff. It's honestly not that interesting compared to what is going on in King's Landing and the northern chapters complete mog it all over the place.

It's a terrible book, I was in disbelief throughout the frist reading. During reread, couple of years after relase, I was laughing loudly.

All I can remember is:

- fat fuck basically recycles Arya's chapters from Feast for Crows

- Tyrion is a boring drunkard

- no one gives a fuck about Young Griff

- he runs Quentyn's portion into the ground and his death has the opposite effect of Eddard Stark's, it's not surprising, just irritating

- large part of the novel feels like you're reading Conan adventures since all the characters mentioned in just a few sentences are ludicrous and infinitely more interesting than anything introduced up to that point.
