Critics praise Italo Calvino, but I've never seen a normal person say anything good about him.

He is like an off-brand Borges, and Borges sucks.

Have you heard a normal person say anything about him at all?

Difficult Loves was a good collection

I absolutely adore Invisible Cities. It's a bi-yearly reread. I started Cosmiccomics and couldn't finish it

I'm at the penultimate story right now. Perhaps it's just the translation, or perhaps it's me not being good at comprehending abstract concepts in my second language, but I some passages I do have to read multiple times to get them, and that gets tedious.

But so far, there are like three stories involving cucking or being afraid of getting cucked. Or even four?

It's a bit odd to see that element pop up again here and there.

I've never heard a normal person say anything about Beckett or Barthelme, or Gaddis or Gass for that matter.

I thought the moon story in Cosmicomics was great, but most of the rest was just gimmicky and annoying. He also has that theme in one of the war stories (cucked by invading Americans)

All Cosmicomics are amazing. I bet they don't turn too well into English.

Imagine holding this opinion on a literature board. If it's in earnest, I feel sorry for you. If it's an attempt at trolling, I'm disappointed in you.

Normal people don’t read those writers except maybe Beckett for a class
