Post Cormac McCarthy fan art. I only read the Road, watched NCFOM and The Sunset Limited, and am a third of the way through a BM audiobook, however I find his characters entertaining and fascinating and enjoy seeing artistic depictions of them.

Plz label any images that are spoilers,

I images him with blonde hair desu, though I have seen depictions where he is in his early to mid twenties or so which doesn’t make sense so pretty accurate

Imagine a big budget BM anime series done in the style of Hellsing Ultiamte, with all the dialogue from the book and the occasional narration directly from the prose. Could also channel a lot of the symbolism into landscape and objects. Though desu any exciting book I have read I have wanted to be turned into a big budget anime, I thought the same while reading The Odyssey and Turner Diaries.

The image that got me to read BM, thanks /lit/, though maybe he looks a bit too much like the Joker. I like the scene where the Judge shoots a chicken and it falls over crippled than dies, I also like the scene where he freaks it the black guy after going on a long rant about the races with historical and literary context.

Some collage of art based on The Road I found in tandem. Kind of gives me S.T.A.L.K.E.R. vibes.

This is how I imagined the book to be honest. I read it for material for a school book report as a kid, only appreciate it now.

The bad thing about fan art for NCFOM is it is all based on the movies, I was hoping to see some original ideas of how the characters looked but I’ll post anyway.

I read about 80 pages into NCFOM in 8th grade once, wish I finished it. I imagined the protagonist cowboy guy (I forget his name) as the sniper from TF2 for some reason. I envisioned the scene where he was hunting very much like the movie though, as well as the scene where he falls in the river. Guess it shows how vivid his prose really is, as well as the purpose of such vivid prose (which people often say is just fluff to expand the length or make it sound deep)

Judge in op is exactly the way I pictured him as I read Blood Meridian.

Yeah I kinda of like it more than the “Joker” depiction of him, though he doesn’t looks as evil which is either a mistake or intentionally deceiving.

Not fan art but this is the real Sunset Limited train, it’s actually in Sante Fe and not New York, however I think he chose that because he probably thought the New York subway was more like a traditional rail, as well as the fact it sounded cool. I think he might have picked it because Black describes Jesus as light you can hold, but White by wanting to kill himself would “limit” that sunset.

Id cast Woody Harrelson as The Judge. Thoughts?

I always thought BM would work best as an animated series like this
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyU-mSUOnSs
with a really abstract, textured, violent style that fits with the surreal feel of the book. We could get Josh Brolin to voice Glanton and Steve Buscemi as Toadvine, would be kino

Id fear an animated BM would make the violence look appealing. Your idea sounds kino sure but I want violence that would make you sick to the core. Think Bone Tomahawk but way more surreal.

That's cool but I imagine BM (specifically the scene where they get ambushed by the Indians early on) like this. I think to capture Cormac's poetic landscapes and ultra defined descriptions you need very detailed animation.

Who do you think would make a good voice for the judge?
