I just read a few pages of Finnigans Wake, and what I could make out is that a woman he knew (who he evidently got on the wrong side of) hurled a brick at him whilst he was blind drunk and killed him. All the while multiple aphorisms spring up and fizzle into the next, all told from the 3rd person perspective. Dialogue is peppered throughout and easily researched scholarly references are patched in between the narrative. He also seems to incorporate many fusion words of his own creation and guttural expressions of sounds.

I thought /lit/ said this book was hard to understand?

Well damn anon, you figured it out.
You're part of the club now, you can safely put down the book and never read it again, it's all very obvious.
