What's the verdict, /lit/? Does the different perspective work? Is it better than the original?

I'm on the fence about reading it because it sounds really hot, I was hoping someone here would have read it

No that would Be Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined

Well it does have a lot of new content because he does a lot when Bella isn't around. There are some interesting fantasy/action sections, and more insight into how Alice and Jasper's powers work, so if you're interested in that aspect, go for it. Edward is extremely long-winded and repetitive though so I ended up skimming half the book.

>write a phenomenon
>it makes you famous
>try to do something else
>it doesn't sell as well
>return to the thing that made you famous in the first place

I realize this is probably the fate of every writer that makes a huge popular hit, but it's depressing, even so. It happened to Dan Brown and J.K. Rowling, too. And while I have no love for either of those writers OR Stephanie Meyer, it is somewhat depressing that they clearly all wanted to move beyond the thing that made them famous, but the public had no appetite for them trying something new.

Best book by far.

i spent an afternoon watching grown-up fans realize how wrong they were to love these books unironically and then trash Meyer's books. consent, cultural appropriation, rape, creep, Mormonism, Renesmee are the most used words.

How did that happen

At least they had a win, but yeah.
I wonder who has made a lot of "really good books" for me Leo Tolstoy and Dostoevsky have made at least three books that are incredible
