Thread for Dark Academic literature.

Don't post ITT if you can't name 5 gothic writers -- stick to your Dostoevsky / Nietzsche retard containment threads, please.

you think some engineering major is going to shop at margaret howell? they would half ass this and buy an oversize wool overcoat from h&m that they pair with jeans, with the effect being that they look like a school shooter.

Jurassic Park and T2 were both vastly more popular than Twin Peaks which was an obscure and weird show which my parents did not watch. I get that there's been a Twin Peaks resurgence of late and myself I did watch it once on Netflix 8 or 9 years ago because I'd heard it was pretty good and it was pretty good except the second series seemed to finish too quickly.

Song of Achilles/Circe
The Secret History/The Goldfinch
The Book Thief

Sometimes: Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Dracula, Rebecca

I'm not joking. Stuff like >>18102714 shows up on so-called DA recommendation lists, yes, but when you ask people what they're actually reading and what their 'favourite DA book' is, you will more often than not get one of the books that I mentioned above.

You need a very high sense of aesthetics as well. Very few people have it because they were peasants in their past lives. That however doesn't apply to me for I must have been an aristocrat. My sense of aesthetics was lodged in my soul all along and thanks to philosophy, I managed to bring it back. It's just like Socrates said.

I'm not the guy you're replying to but Twin Peaks got cancelled in the second season and they brought it back just a few years ago for a third and final season which I haven't seen but have heard is really good. The first season is probably the best TV show I've ever watched though but the absolute drop in quality of the writing in the second season was huge.
