Its a descriptor and its correct. Retard.
Besides, he makes a good point. You can literally start anywhere. Pick a title that sounds cool, doesn't matter

Maybe try reading black woman instead of a racist dead white man?

I'm esl, I'll never get better if all I read is ebonics. The racist white man will get me there - I really liked Ibid, his biography of the Roman scholar Ibidus.

You dont really need a guide but if you want to get a closer look at him, go to the hp lovecraft archive at hplovecraft.com , it has some essays and literary criticism written by him

>> No.18044887

The whole anthology is like 600 pages. Just read it.

Buy a complete anthology of his short stories.
>inb4 the stories he ghost wrote
Sure, most of them don't include those stories, buy The Horror in the Museum edited by Wordsworth, it's missing a couple of stories but let's be honest, most of them are mediocre and this edition is cheap as fuck. If you want to pay a shitload of money for something edited by Joshi, go ahead.

read Pickman's model before Dream Quest.
Also I would recommend reading The history of the Necronomicon right after Dagon, it's mostly just to get an idea of what it is and it's only half a page so it isn't a bother.
The dreams in the Witch House is pretty independent and slightly longer, I use it to introduce people to HP. Lovecraft, especially when they say they dislike sci-fi
