What a retarded take. The entire Renaissance was dominated by Italian authors, the baroque was invented by Marino, the Romantic period had Foscolo, Leopardi and Manzoni who are highly regarded in all of Europe, the 20th century gave some of the best poets in the world, Campana, Montale, Quasimodo and others that you obviously don't know. And still I haven't mentioned Calvino, Eco, Svevo, Pirandello, D'Annunzio, and the ones you have never heard because they're not translated. Poor bait, overall.
