All of our contemporary and classical philosophers seem to go into detail about their disdain of women. Some more than others, yet all the same they feel the need to tear them down. For what purpose? What do they gain doing this? Philosophers, especially our most recognizable ones, are indeed men. Yet that does not mean a woman cannot be brought up to intellect or raise above the common man. I believe in recent years you can see that woman can, in fact, rise above their counterparts. Yet all the same, these philosophers and many of our modern thinkers/anons/(You)s make it seem like women are unable to grasp such success, when that is not the case.

The last 100 years or so of historical progress cannot deny 100,000+ years of evolutionary and biological history. I highly doubt that women are more intelligent, since they would have played a much more prominent role if that was a case anyway, in the sense of inventions and art. But even if it be so, you should realize that for the vast amount of human history men were hunting, waging war, protecting their families, trading in far away lands, building cities and states while women were giving birth, raising children and taking care of the household. It's because of the raising of female children. Speculation isn't encouraged, girls are micromanaged by their mothers (much more than boys) and constantly compared to boys. They end up acutely wanting to please their environment and follow the established goals of society.

Now, philosophers are often at odds with society which has, since ancient times, held lower and lower opinions of philosophers and philosophy and vice versa. It's almost philosophical misandry (with some exceptions), because women, because of their upbringing, are often at odds with philsophy (and that isn't something exclusive to women, artists were like that until romanticism for example).

Some philosophers saw the role of upbringing, some didn't. I don't have any official data, I don't even know how someone would, no one would finance that longitudinal research and it would have to last for a long, long time. But I am almost 100% positive that with different upbringing, there would be more women in philosophy. We'll see with the next generation, there are a lot of women studying philosophy now, but without the change in upbringing. It will be interesting to see the clash between primary, familiar, and secondary, professional/philosophical socialization, although the state of the academia is pretty msierable so I wouldn't hold my breath for huge changes. But small changes in the right direction are definitely feasible.
