I am starting to think that music is actually a form of mind control. It can force your mood or mind into a certain one, depending on the music. Hyped, angry, sad, hopeless, degenerate (not a mood of course). The sound can take you back to bygone days and make you experience a time or situation associated with that song. The smell, the feel, your thoughts at the time, the feeling, taste. Music has a way of controling your senses. I don't like it. I loved to listen to classical music, but now it makes me sad because of the beauty. I listened to synthwave, but that makes me remember the lonely moments and feeling of despair. Might music only be enjoyable for the mindless masses? And not nostalgic idiots like me who can not stop thinking.

I will give it another go because I have heard albums that are difficult to get into but after a few listens are great, for example I think Syd Barrett's solo albums are wonderful but I admit they do sound very rough to someone who is not familiar with them.

I dont know what the purpose of art is. But I do know that unless you hold a painting in front of your eyes as you do something you wont get the same effect when you see that painting years later. Unlike music which is easier to combine with other stuff. Do you get what I mean? There are alot of things bothering me, and I dont think I will ever be able to fix most of them.

At some point I started hating all pop music and almost all classical music, except Monteverdi and some pieces by Bach.

I only listen to traditional music these days. Balkan music, Swedish folk, qawali.
