Is the Count of Monte Cristo a "fun" book to read?

Context: I'm a readtard and I can't stand reading another boring as fuck book where nothing happens for hundreds of pages. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

And yes, I do realize now that all the books I listed got movie adaptations. So what. Fuck you. I like it and you can't stop me.

Start reading short stories or shorter books.
Lovecraft should keep you entertained enough during most of the story.

You should read the stars my destination by Alfred Bester. Same thing but action packed, set in space and a tenth of the length

I can tell you that the first third of the book absolutely kicks ass, betrayals and prison breaks and stuff.
But there's definitely a big lull in the middle.
I can't tell you how you'll feel about the ending. I thought it was really beautiful, but some people say it was unsatisfying.
