If you killed Socrates, then perhaps the sophists would have had more of a foothold in Athens, since they would go unmolested by the inquisitive little spawn of Silenus. But then Plato would not have had a mentor to push him towards philosophy for its own sake, and he might have fallen into politics like the rest of his family, and he could have ended up like some crazed tyrant.
And if you killed Plato, then there would have been much less for Alexander to respect and he might not have been a phil-hellenes at all, and a brutal regime may have started that killed all knowledge in favour of constant war, and when/if the Romans came, they learned nothing and Christianity would have no philosophical basis and theology would not exist and the church would simply justify itself through even more brute force, without even having the eventually renaissance at the end of it due to people gaiing access to Plato again, because you killed him.
If you killed either one, you certainly would not be typing on a computer right now. So maybe it's for the best.
