POST HERE YOUR QUESTIONS THAT DON'T DESERVE THEIR OWN THREAD:
>Books with X theme?
>What am I in for?
>What was his/her problem?
>Books like X?
>Do I need to read X to understand Y?
>other questions I can't think of right now

This is an experiment, /lit/ is complaining lately.
I think this could help the board quality overall.
Direct all questions that in your opinion don't deserve their own thread to here.
Keep this thread open if you like to help fellow anons out with their questions.
Turning this in a general avoids newfags asking those same questions over and over again.
Also, other repetitive posts that don't really need their own thread can be directed here.

Feel free to discuss your thoughts about this becoming a general and maybe improve the template, and save it on our wiki so we could easily copy paste.

What do you think a reasonable rate of reading is for someone who hasn't read voluntarily for a long time, or who only ever read middle-grade/YA stuff and is looking to eventually work their way towards some of the more challenging classics? I set out a Goodreads goal for 26 books this year, one per two weeks - do you think this is a good goal, or should I have aimed higher? I care, because without an accurate page count I don't have any sense of how much I'm actually reading. If I'm portioning myself between multiple books, as I often do, being able to estimate how long it will take me to finish each book is helpful. This is to say nothing of the fact that this is even more significant for telling how much there is left in each chapter.

I'm especially interested in the evolution of tragedy into the contemporary age. I don't mind the medium (be it literature, film, even anime or manga), I want to learn about tragedy in all its artistic iterations.
