Agreed, unless you are talking about history. It would mean you are missing out on for example Eamon Duffy or Alec Ryrie whenever you would like to study the reformation. Or you would miss out on Graeber’s On Debt and On Kings. You would miss out on Seaford’s Money and greek society, Spufford’s book on money and merchants in the medieval time, Huizinga’s Homo Ludens and his study on the Burgundians, Oakley’s book about kingship,...
