apparently there's an anime, but the opening was so cringe i immediately dropped it.

there was another book i read as a kid, don't remember the name i just got it cause the cover was cool. it was a brother and sister who's family basically took care of a reserve for magical creatures. and they'd go on adventures there dealing with all types of magical shit.

plus honestly i feel like the line between YA and adult novels is pretty blurry. There's common trends but I can see a lot of them going either way. The main reason I don't shop for "YA" books is that the prose tends to be more basic and doesn't flow as well. Otherwise if I just cared about themes or ideas I'd gladly pick up a few of them.

There was a series I read as a kid, it was about a pair of twins who learned into magic. Don't remember the name or a lot of the details but I do remember
>one of the early covers had a dragon on the cover (gave me that early dragon on human female fetish)
>their magic language was basically used as a universal language that could talk to anything (including animals/rocks). magic was essentially just asking politely for things to do things for you and they'd just do it

I was young when i read this and even then I found orson scott card insuferable, I was reading the last book and gave up like 17 pages before reaching the end, I just didnt care anymore.

Dont get me wrong, if this is the first book authered by him you read i guess its perfectly fine, the thing is, I had already read his "ships from earth" series and the "ender's game" series, so the only thought on my mind was, ¿Is that it, Orson? ¿Is this everything you have? ¿Really? An abrahamic myth of a young ladd marked by family drama in a sci-fi setting? ¿For the third fucking time? I was just so fucking done with this hack, he can LITERALLY only write one fucking thing, or whats worse, he only writes one thing because money is the ultimate goal.

I read all the William Sleator books I could find from elementary to middle school. Pic related was about twins who discover a shack where time moves fast because black holes or some shit. It had a sad ending that really moved me where the runt of the two locks himself in there for an entire year doing /SIG/ because he wants to be older and taller, irreversibly distancing himself from his brother and fucking their relationship forever.

In hindsight it probably wasn't great as I thought it was, it's pretty clear the author was forced to meet a quota of seven books and just repeated the same plotlines over and over. I'm pretty nostalgic about it which makes me scared to read them again.
