I personally think Phillip Mainlander died in the most /lit/ way imaginable. He gathered the manuscripts for his first snd only published work and also his magnum opus on philosophy and used it to hang himself from the rafters of his apartment. I say this as someone who is actually not at all interested in his pessimist philosophy. I also think Osamu Dazai died interestingly given his history of suicide attempts with women, his subsequent writing which used female protagonists and narrators.

What do you mean? The verse applies today - but you need to apply the context with it. The context says that if Muslims are being genocided again like they were in the time of Qureish - YOU HAVE PERMISSION to fight back against them. This is God clarifying that this religion is not one of forced non violence like bhudism or what not - but it permits self defense with any means you may have.

If you really read it you'll see that the verses around it and this verse are talking about war in self defense - you can't not just become an agressor and start wars.
