yes, but capitalism is also satanic.

>> No.17846070

>>17846055
No, capitalism is definitely Christian. The bible defends private property, and the value of labor. Communism is satanic because it is atheistic meaning they believe murder is okay , and that everything is permitted.

When Marx had his difficult break from Christianity, he literally started writing edgy Satanic poetry about destroying Heaven and Earth and marching over it with Satan.

>> No.17846126

>>17846070
capitalism as an ideology is secular. so is communism of course. man cant create "the kingdom of heaven" through a political ideology so Christianity cant be tied directly to one

>> No.17846135

>>17846126
correct.

>> No.17846143

>>17846126
Capitalism isn't secular at all; its basis is the Protestant work ethic, and capitalism has always been upheld by the Catholic Church. The Church, the Bible explicitly upholds private property. Capitalism is god's chosen system, and the basis of Christian civilization. Communism is satanism because it reduces everything to scientific thinking, and leaves no hope for an afterlife.

>To our less philosophical readers, for example, it is now clear that the so passionate Teufelsdrockh precipitated through "a shivered Universe" in this extraordinary way, has only one of three things which he can next do: Establish himself in Bedlam; begin writing Satanic Poetry; or blow out his brains.

Many such cases!

Capitalism is not trying to create the kingdom of heaven, nobody except a fringe of lolbertarians think anything like that. Most capitalists just view it as the system that emerges from certain rights they think are important.

>>17846126
Correct.
> Matthew 6:19-21
>Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
>But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
>For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

I got a set of Britannica's Great Books for free because the library was throwing them away, I assume those are probably worth something. I have a couple dozen first editions scattered around, including The Wayward Bus, Roughing It, Murphy, Absalom, Absalom!, Under the Volcano. I'm not really sure what any of this stuff is worth though, if it's worth anything.

>capitalism has always been upheld by the Catholic Church
"Democratic socialism managed to fit within the two existing models as a welcome counterweight to the radical liberal positions, which it developed and corrected. It also managed to appeal to various religious denominations. In England it became the political party of the Catholics, who had never felt at home among either the Protestant conservatives or the liberals. In Wilhelmine Germany, too, Catholic groups felt closer to democratic socialism than to the rigidly Prussian and Protestant conservative forces. In many respects, democratic socialism was and is close to Catholic social doctrine, and has in any case made a remarkable contribution to the formation of a social consciousness."
