Metaphysics in the 21st century

What are contemporary metaphysicians doing, really? I want to be sympathetic towards them but it is really difficult take them seriously when all of their science claims seem to be about 19th century science. I find it confusing and the haughtiness, vanity and arrogance that accompanies undergrad and graduate philosophy students also makes it so difficult to talk to them about such matters in good faith because it is as though they have a personal stake in appearing intelligent. What is wrong with science? At least for the past 60 years it has told us a lot without any I'm asking this in good faith
