Whatever you do, DO NOT READ THE DIVINE PLATO IN ANYTHING BUT GREEK. First, get Learn to Read Greek from the Yale Press and continue with Athenaze.

Books VII and VIII are somewhat interesting, but I hate his writing style. Book IV if you want a better understanding of his political philosophy. His political philosophy is the only somewhat good branch of philosophy he talks about, everything else sucks.

Aristotle is worse than Plato, disregard anyone telling you to skip. For Plato, start with Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, Phaedo, Meno, Symposium, then read whatever interests you.
