Is Judaism the most /lit/ religion? There is a real philosophical and literary depth in the Hebrew bible that is absent from the new testament in my opinion.

On what parameters?

I would say that, ironically, if you look just at the Old testament, it’s probably more /pol/ than anything else. There is a lot of philosophical depth in later Jewish texts tho, but looking at records of rabbis debating is eerily similar to a 4chan thread.

Tfw Calvinist

Jesus does not love you. He loves his elect. He did not die for you. He died for me because I was predestined to be saved and you are predestined for hell if you don't believe or if you're Catholic.

I don't care who is president or how many trannies post here because God predestined it all. Also, like most Presbyterians I'm extremely wealthy not because I believe in some sinful prosperity gospel but just because only intelligent professionals like myself get God.

Enjoy hell. The Bible says homos and trannies and atheists like you are vessels for God's wrath. You are not loved, but God graciously sustains you anyway until you burn in hell forever.

Repent and believe. Only the chosen will respond to this call.

I figure that any religion that finds itself centered around a holy scripture is /lit/, but I see what you're saying.
You're right to say that there is philosophical and literary depth in the Bible, there's a reason it's stories and themes are repeated in nearly every significant work of fiction, and there are genuinely countless works of theology and philosophy dedicated to it. There's a whole other holy book just centered around Rabbis' discussion of it, the Talmud.

We aren't called 'the people of the book for nothing.'

Only if you're referring to the Talmud. The Old Testament doesn't have anything that is really philosophy unless you count the wisdom literature books:
>Job
>Proverbs
>Ecclesiastes
>Song of Songs
>Wisdom of Solomon
>Wisdom of Sirach

Wisdom of Sirach and Wisdom of Solomon are not canon for Jews. Genesis is good literature though. Take for instance the story of Cain and Abel. Most people take Cain's famous "Am I my brother's keeper?" to be a petty excuse, but it's actually a deep point. Cain is saying that God is Abel's keeper and that Abel's death is God's fault as he created Cain with evil inclinations and then allowed him to carry out murder.

Not anymore at least.

Cain rejected the notion that he was his brother's keeper and thus responsible for his welfare. He used his guilt as an excuse to avoid repentance, for he did not believe in the grace of God. He willfully allowed his passions to blind his heart.

But to some extent, God was responsible for Abel's death as he created Cain with murderous intentions and then left him to his own devices

Continuing on that topic, Isaiah 45:7 similarly suggests that God is responsible for evil. "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

After much research, I sustain that the most /lit/ religion is Christian Hermeticism in the vien of Bruno, Ficino, Fludd, Boehme, Tomberg and the like. But if youre not autistic just a respectable branch of Christianity will do.

No. Cain refused to deal with his passions through repentance, and his anger led to hate and murder.

Judaism is just the offspring of the angry incel class of Canaanite polytheism. Basically, gods like Asherah and Baal were dunking on them 24/7 for being dynamic gods that often got laid, so they went full Columbine on them

Translating it as "calamity" is a poor choice. The original Hebrew word used "רַ֖ע" means evil. Good translations of the bible translate that line as create evil. You just nitpicked a bad translation.
