Is he the only political philosopher you need?

No, because he refers to other political philosophers on a regular basis. His erudition was impressive even by the standards of his time (which were higher as a rule) but of course you don't need to read everything he read in order to understand him. At the very least I'd say you need to know the following:
>Hobbes' Leviathan
Schmitt had a kind of lukewarm relationship with Hobbes. On the one hand he admired him for trying to save the sovereign power, on the other hand he like de Maistre after him wasn't totally on board with contractual foundation of a society. He quotes him a lot though and he devoted a series of lectures to Leviathan and besides Hobbes is a towering figure in early modern political thought. If you haven't read him by now, you might as well do this in order to prepare yourself for Schmitt.
>de Maistre
In many ways foreshadowed Schmitt's thinking on the effects of abolishing the sovereign. A must read.
>Max Weber
Important as a polar opposite of Schmitt. Weberian bureaucratic state created in the image of a machine is precisely what he stood against.

In a way you'd be right. For all his virtues he had questionable moral constitution. He was preparing an amendment to the Weimar constitution that would have had the practical effect of outlawing the NSDAP, after 1933 he silently supported the Nazis, after the war he got away with it owing to his intellect (although he had to spend some time in Soviet arrest). However after 1945 he was practically banned from academia, only giving occassional lectures. We're in the process of reassessing his thought and now he is generally considered to be one of the most ingenious political philosophers of the 20th century

Ever heard of this guy? This quote: "Who are our enemies? Who are our friends? This is a question of the first importance for the revolution."

Not only has Mao elaborated this idea, he's been practicing it while fighting the greatest anti-colonial struggle pf the XX century.

Also, don't forget about Jiang Shigong.

Brace up for the communist future!

No, he isn't. Schmitt's utility is largely negative. What he is good for is clearing away the theoretical detritus which has filled people's brains in the era of ascendant liberalism (or rather, post-1920s 'managed' liberalism, neo-liberalism if you will) and getting them to look 'politics' as such in the face. That is something valuable, to be sure. But that's it. Schmitt is /helpful/ for clearing away a lot of ideological bullshit you'll encounter in trying to 'understand' politics, but he is in that sense a starting point, not an endpoint.

Not really. Mao attempted to create a society where the friend-enemy distinction would become obsolete. This is because in Marxist theory class enmity is the most fundamental antagonism which disappears in communism because classes themselves do not exist in communism (the distinction between private and public enemy is relevant here). For Schmitt the friend-enemy distinction is eternal and you can abolish it no more than you can abolish politics and social life itself. His Catholic faith is important to note here. Any attempt to create Heaven on Earth smelled like heresy to him.

This guy gets it. The fact that Schmitt has been used an abused by so many opposed political factions proves that his importance consists priamarily in clearing your mind of bullshit politics
