To be honest I wished it never happened for about a a year or two afterwards and only learnt to appreciate the experience later. More than anything, it’s a relief that I haven’t missed out now that I’m too old to chase 16 year olds.

It’s a part of normal development for most, especially crucial if you want to be an author and capture the feels realistically.

look honestly the only thing that matters is if you're talented or not, not whether or not you fucked when you were in high school, which the overwhelming majority of people do. no amount of sex will make you a worthwhile writer, but there have been plenty of worthwhile writers who either never had sex or probably had very little of it, so i don't know exactly what your point is.

I'm about to turn 27 years old and I've never had sex, although I did get a blowjob once at a party roughly a decade ago. I was really sad about it for years and often felt suicidal but for some reason now I don't seem to care anymore and I feel serene, like my brain finally broke in half. Feels good bros.

I see no point in having some faggot loser mentality where I just whine on a message board all day about how I'm only 5'6, I don't have the right bone ratio, my face is ugly, I'm autistic and socially retarded, I was bullied in high school and my parents abused me, all the girls rejected blah blah blah blah blah blah...

At the end of the day, no one gives a fuck if you're lonely. Whining should be left for women.

>St. Thomas Aquinas[..] was born into Italian nobility in 1225, and had the reasonable life of a Benedictine monk ahead of him, until he decided to join the Dominican order instead. His family were horrified. The Dominicans, unlike the more upmarket Benedictines, were a mendicant or begging order, and survived by preaching in the vulgar vernacular and begging for alms.

>Aquinas's parents, hoping he might come to his senses, conspired to have him kidnapped and imprisoned for more than a year in the family castle. Aquinas got on with writing logical treatises, until his brothers tried to make him see the error of his ways by helpfully inserting a prostitute into his cell. Aquinas, in a perhaps unprecendented display of monkish restraint, did not succumb to her worldly charms, but rather, wielding a burning stick, chased her from the castle. That night two angels were said to have appeared to him in a dream, strengthening his resolve to remain celibate.

>Aquinas's family, realized then that he was a lost cause, allowed him to escape, and Aquinas trotted off to Napes, Rome, Paris and, finally, Cologne, where he took up a professorial position and was ordained to the priesthood.

I don't know. Male writers who were lifelong bachelors didn't really disclose the status of their virginity back in the day so a lot of it is left up to speculation. It's seems probable that Newton and Spinoza died virgins. Nietzsche probably only had sex with hookers. Not a writer but Beethoven was infamously terrible with women because of his unsightly appearance and poor social manner, and you also have all the monastic writers. Sex is a part of life but it's one part of life. There are parts of life that incels or romantically unsuccessful people will perhaps do better writing about, like protracted episodes of loneliness, isolation and rejection, for example, all ostensibly parts of the human experience for lots and lots of people. Also, virginity isn't a problem, since hookers exist.

>like protracted episodes of loneliness, isolation and rejection
You can write about all of these (arguably more effectively) once you’ve experienced love and then subsequent loneliness. Not to mention that we’ve all been virgins before fucking our first girl, everyone is familiar with the awkwardness and frustration of sexual inexperience.

You have some good points there, it just seems that other than handful of philosophers male virgins don’t really seem to write well. It’s a mental condition exceeding the simple act of sticking p in v.
