Sandersoi's Mistborn. But Mistborn is better.

Ok, I'll check that out too. Is the series called Second Apocalypse? Googled it just now

>> No.17709134

>>17709090
Yeah it's called the Second Apocalypse. I started reading it after all the shilling on here and I just finished the second book. Haven't been this obsessed with a book series in a while. It's definitely worth reading if you like more mature fantasy

My as of yet unreleased series

The better question is what book is like this pure kino? I would say they're very disparate aesthetically speaking, but in regards to their irreverent humor, I think GTO has some features in common with The Good Soldier Svejk. Both are also similarly critical of modern societal mores regarding authority and ethics.

Check out the works of Kenzaburō Ōe, they have a similarly otherworldly, open feeling to them, alongside having guttural, brutal underbellies. If that makes sense.

Nah man the real question is what would be the literary version of this kino masterpiece?

>> No.17709291

>>17709239
Teach Us to Outgrow Our Madness if you wanna start off with a short story collection, The Silent Cry if you want a novel.
>>17709255
I mean it's alright but every manga mentioned before it in this thread is better. I imagine this is b8 but I am committed to answering everything in as autistically honest of a manner as possible. Also, fi I had to name a novel like SnK, for some reason SnK reminds me of the whimsy of Kafka's work sometimes. Otherwise check out some fiction surrounding the second world war.
