Hey, look at me, I'm a symbol for the inherent madness of the creative process

crazy to think that the yellow king shit only appears in like 3 out of 8 stories in some shitty collection of victorian love novels

>> No.17689361

>>17689213
And those stories were from an even more obscure, at the time, story that's not even five pages long.

This is like something someone might write in a highschool essay and think they were being perceptive.

This is interesting though. I remember being surprised that so few of the stories actually features any yellow king lore. I'd read one of the stories in a book of collected supernatural horror stories edited by Lovecraft, an I expected the Chambers short stories to all be in a similar vein.

So, Hastur started out as a benign deity in Bierce, while the King in Yellow was created by Chambers to represent a kind of malignant art. Was it Lovecraft that combined the two?

The creative process is plenitudinous; "madness" pertains to psykhic illness/disorder, which manifests during, and/or within, creation; only the free, and the calm —the well—, can create with control, and with order, precluding the outbreak of chaos within flux.

The best way to create is to follow the flow, and to reset with rest.
