sort of qualifies. Can't say much without spoiling it, if you don't know the basic story. If you enjoyed King Solomon's Mines you should give it a try (it's much better, in my opinion).

There are quite a few yanderes in Greek mythology.

Bertha Mason definitely started life as a yandere although I guess she's gone beyond that by the time the book meets her. (She hardly appears but she's pretty important, thematically and plot-wise too.)
