بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

>Anyone who studies the Qur’ān closely, and tastes the unique and rich experience of living within its ambience, will immediately identify the distinct character of every one of its sūrahs. Every sūrah has an aura and a personality of its own, with unique and well-defined features, and a feel that makes it stand apart from all the rest. Moreover, every sūrah revolves around a central theme, or a number of major themes related to one another by a common thread or idea. Every sūrah radiates its own atmosphere of meaning and essence, within which its theme, or themes, are discussed using the same well integrated and well coordinated style and approach. It also has its own special rhythm and musical pulse which accord with the meaning and context of its topics and content.

-Sayyid Qutb

Please note: classical Arabic uses quantitative verse (like Latin and Greek), not qualitative. The enlongation you hear here isn't embellishment or singing but simply correct classical pronunciation

إن شاء الله my next thread will deal with Jesus, عليه السلام, in the Qur'an. What is the nature of his character to Muslims? Is it possible to reconcile his and his mother's celibate nature with the polygyny and concubinage of the Qur'an? Or his loving attitude ("Forgive me people for they do not know" as they are beating him is also related in a Hadith) with Qur'an's emphasis on religious empire and warrior spirituality? إن شاء الله I will cover it all. But for now just enjoy Qur'an

The Bible is 60+ books written over a period of thousands of years by dozens of authors. There is, literally, nothing like it in the history of the world.
The Iliad is one book of poetry written by one person.
The Odyssey is one book of poetry written by one person.
The Aeneid is one book of poetry written by one person.
The Quran is one book of poetry written by one person.
The Divine Comedy is one book of poetry written by one person.
Paradise Lost is one book of poetry written by one person.
The Prelude is one book of poetry written by one person.
Leaves of Grass is one book of poetry written by one person.

Muhammad didn't even write down the Quran nor does the Quran ever instruct anyone to.

In fact, it isn't even certain how the Quran even came to be written down, since the earliest record of how that happened was recorded TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY PLUS YEARS LATER by Bukhari who lived hundreds of miles away.

If someone today were to write down, for the very first time, something that happened in 1790 and their only sources were oral, you'd say it was bullshit. "Well, this guy said he heard from his grandpa that he once heard another guy his uncle told him...." Yea, I'm sure that's a reliable way to learn what happened 230 years ago.

Why did Muhammad instruct fellow muslims to bath in menstrual cloth and dead dogs?

>> No.17646557

>>17646508
No, you're not understanding what I wrote.

The earliest account of how the Quran came to be recorded is itself only recorded 250+ years later.

It would be, like, if the earliest book we had about the War of 1812 was written in 2015.

>> No.17646664

This incident has several narrations and only this mentions dead dogs and menstrual clothes, and in jurisprudence these are considered things which make water ritually impure because that has evidence in other narrations

>>17646557
No, you mean the earliest details of its precisely collation and propagation. Similarly there are not real details on how the Iliad or Odyssey were committed to writing

Again you are making a confusion regarding the printing press

Nice try, but why do you think an ancient text, written in a completely different language, should immediately be accessible to you without having built a foundation and the capacity for digesting it's content? When you see a chart of "Start with the Greeks" meme you see it recommending reading the political and historical setting of the ancient greece, then some early philosopers then moving on to newer, slowly building up to understanding over the span of several years.
