I wish we were living in it. Most politicians and soldiers only care for money, at least in Latam.

the shadow governments operate like how Plato's Republic is described

They operate much more like Aristotle's Oligarchy you giga-brainlet.

Not in any aspect at all you schizo. Go actually read the book. Besides, it's a metaphor for the human soul not an actual city-state dumbass.

He's probably referring to the breakup of the extended family unit and the attempt to normalize single motherhood, and probably his opinion that women's rights is a sort of eugenics program. Also the noble lie in Plato does line up suspiciously well with our current understanding of genetics. There is a lot of stuff in there that has direct analogy to the modern world.

>its a metaphor
I've never heard that take. I've heard that it was a satire which is possible, but I always figured he was being serious, because Aristotle addresses some of the policy recommendations in a serious manner in The Politics. And also because of his authoritarian attitude in Cristo. Anyways, why do you think it was a metaphor?

No it isn't, stop coping. It was always taken literally

He literally says at the start.
>Lets view, on a city sized scale, a just state of being. This will show us, on the micro scale, what a just man looks like

A few months ago for me.

I see this argument brought up here over and over again, but it seems like everybody from Aristotle to Bertrand Russel took it literally, not just 4chan retards.

I might have to reread, but I think he was trying to describe a just state in hopes that it would reveal the just man. Which means he was in fact trying to describe his ideal state. I think you are right that people overemphasize his political recommendations when that wasn't his ultimate goal, but I think he was serious.
