I’m partway through marathoning this, it’s my first philosophy book. What do you think of it? And where should I go next after I’m done? Preferably something a bit less self help book-y. It’s good but it’s basically The Secret of old boomer times

Do Plato's Dialogues and The Republic, then go with Aristotle (Poetics and Rhetoric are solid entry points).

Why are you marathoning it? Also, if you're truly marathoning, why are you stopping to post about it on a Taiwanese DIY electronics forum? Read the book slowly and take notes. Philosophy is meant to be absorbed and reflected upon, not chugged like a cheap beer. You'll get out what you put in.

again, i'm seriously indignant that you decided to read it like this. you're supposed to read it in bits and digest. what you're doing is gorging on it; you will incorporate nothing, and, what's worse, you will believe you have any understanding of it

keep it on the back burner and open it every now and then. it shouldn't be the primary book you're reading at any given time.
