I read the Butler prose translation of the Illiad and the Odyssey.
And I liked it

I never knew that. For a prose translation I felt it was really good. I felt he preserved the brutal aspects of the poems very well. I've heard the original greek poem is very graphically violent which previous translators downplayed. It was a very interesting balance of glorious battle descriptions mixed with outright gore.

I found a copy of erewhon in a local bookstore, is it worth picking up? I've seen the way of all flesh plenty of times as well.

For prose, it's good. Of course, verse is always better.
