When I was studying electrical engineering I did not have free time to read at all. The workload was ridiculous and I had to study in my free time in order to do well. After I was done I could decide between sleeping or reading, and I was too tired to focus on reading. It's no wonder most STEM students don't read, the course turns you into a bugman calculator.

I barely have any free time to read as well, anon. I usually read half assed at night before I collapse into sleep after total exhaustion. I'm in class 9-6 3 days per week, other days it's like 9-2, but then there are labs, reports, group projects. It's absolutely insane compared to basically any other majors.

I'd argue that getting the phil degree (having to write papers, having to read, having to talk about it with others, having the professors tell us why we are brainlets) was worth it, as it laid down a foundation for the rest of my life. Now with that said, I took AN ENTIRE CLASS on Kant's Critque of Pure Reason, and if I wasn't able to go through my class notes, I couldn't tell you all the nitty gritty.

>How much of that owes to all the students who get into engineering for the money and prestige instead of having the aptitude?
Even with the aptitude, the workload is significantly higher than anything else. I have looked online at other majors, nothing compares with engineering majors in terms of workload.
We are expected to produce 5000 - 6000 word minimum lab reports (at good schools), we do around 6-9 per year, on top of group design projects and other individual projects. Then there is the final year project.
In the last 4 months, I have written 34, 000 words by myself. I am only in my 2nd year. The only time I have to shitpost on 4chan is when taking a dump in the toilet or when I'm about to sleep (like right now).

psychopathy, asocial behaviour isolation and apathy
stoicism, isolating your feelings and ignore them for x goal
Ignoring your feelings create neural resistance
Neural resistance to emotional impacts leads to apathy
Apathy leads to psychopathy

If some /his/ fag can somehow find out if Marco Aurelius had man tits I can confirm you he was a full-blown psychopath, also first hand experience all the people that have read Meditations are awful cunts filled with repressed hatred that they have turned into apathy, i know alot of those
