Anyone read this and got any thoughts? Thinking of picking it up soon after I finish what I'm currently on

I just finished it and really enjoyed it. I went in blind and I think that was a good idea that you might want to follow.

Are there any McCarthy books I should read before this one? Or is okay to start with this

I started with this and was fine. The imagery is great in this book, a lot of the words he uses are archaic and you can easily miss parts of the story if you are not paying attention but overall a great book.

Start with this one. It's the only one worth reading twice

Bullshit

You can start with it but better entry point is Child of God; short, masterfully written and will test if you can stomach the violence in Blood Meridian.

It's meme book no. one. You didn't see a thread about it in the catalogue for two hours, so you just had to stick your fat nose in, eh?

You can read it first and be fine but his first four novels are worth reading and will increase your enjoyment of BM
