I recall when I was in highschool my english teacher always gave us assignments ethnic and sexual minorities etc. Usually I just got it over with but one time she told me to write about some gay author and I mixed him up with another and wrote about that guy. 90% through I go to look at the gay stuff and there was none, and realized the problem. Still turned it in and it was fine but I imagine the teacher thought I was some homophobe who refused to write about a fag.
