Are there any other instances of series like this? I’ve never heard of /v making a game before or /tv making a movie. Have there been other books from 4chan or is it just these? Also which of these are worth reading? I only ever hear about Call of the Crocodile and Arcade but there are others.

Yep

Multiple and actually as group projects, like the legacy of totalitarianism in a tundra. There’s also tons of projects in boards like /tg/ plenty of magazines, even here, songs and various other little oddities. Also correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t notch in the early days also on /v/?

Gardner I don’t mean to shit on you so I’ll give it to you straight. Out of all of the shilling I’ve seen posted about the book I have never seen anything that would convince me it’s worth reading.

As far as I can tell it’s schlock that’s trying to be like Stephen king, has intentional and unintentional spelling errors and the big hook is that you don’t have to read them in order.

What exactly Is appealing about This over an author who’s better than Stephen king of which there are many? Like do you have any genuine philosophical depth, what unique aesthetic experience are you going for, what’s the appeal? Maybe it doesn’t have to be appealing to me and you just want pop schlock but, for me and a lot of anons here, that’s really not what we’re interested in.

There’s of course more, also we have original poetry threads every day, not to mention the other boards also produce a ton.

Hell, I’ve written a novella even.

In a way you have to understand it, they must have put a lot of love and care into this stuff even if it’s not the best. Enough that they’re willing to put their name and spread it as much as they possibly can.
