What's the point of reading philosophy when you can read The Bible? Why trust the opinion of some random German or French pseud instead of the word of God himself?

How did God write the Bible?

The Bible is schizo bullshit. (Gospels are nice though, and Job and Ecclesiastes).

If you assume the whole Bible is the word of God, you're basically saying God is a retard.

Anyone else here get spooked thinking about God existing at all times. I don't know why this bothers me so much but it just seems so odd to imagine and incomprehensible that I get panic attacks.

First time? That goes away the more you think about it

I've had it since I was a kid an would think about God but it would subside. Now that I'm digging deep into Christianity I'm having it on my mind a lot more. I can't even explain why it bothers me, the universe out if nothing or being eternal bothers me too but seeing as God is "conscious" I can't help but imagine his thoughts prior to creation which is stupid as a created being I know.

Implying the Bible is the word of god. Do you believe everything a man in uniform tells you OP. If so, kindly go suck his dick. God knows he needs the release.

Holy Spirit possessed mortal men who physically wrote it all down.

And you believe that?

The bible doesn't explain how to crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

Philosophy is fine but if a higher-spirituality exists and there is indeed an all powerful and all righteous God then there are teleological suspensions of the ethical. Otherwise, finding wisdom in other matters in normal life that the Bible doesn't address is fine. But be wise

Read the Greeks, not the German or French fags

Philosophy is often just an articulation of commonly experienced phenomena.

Yeah that's fine and normal. Pray. Don't pray like a verse though. Pray the way you talk normally and be honest and say what is really in your heart.

Literally the only two books I can relate to.

no, he didn't, it was just the words of random desert based goat fuckers. the Quran however is literally the words of god possessing a mortal man who wrote it down, despite being illiterate

>> No.17486920

>>17486139
This is only true of the Quran. All the books of the Bible might be divinely inspired, but they are not the works of god through the conduit of man, but works of men.

He didn't write it down.

>> No.17486971

someone wrote it down, it doesnt matter who, its still the word of god (not really because its not real and shit, but in kayfabe and all)
