I'm only posting this cause I've never even spoken the words of this story, ever and I might as well get it out there anonymously.

My father was never around consistently in my life nor my sibling's lives so from my belief and understanding this easily can be the root of many problems homosexuality, incest, etc. When I was young my mother(deprived of any sexual activity) made "attempts" at me that I honestly think if I was more aware then it could have lead my relationship with her in a certain direction will just say. There's always been this constant incestuous energy in my family because of the rift/hole my father left and a lot of weird shit that I don't think would have happened was my father around. I think the Oedipus complex is probably 90% correct but I would not doubt if it were 100% right, it just makes too much sense and if most of my memories were not repressed/eroded by drug use I could write an essay on it. The absence of him threw the Oedipus complex for a loop and although I have not read much of Freud itself in book form everything I've heard is just correct albeit(maybe due to its raw truth), stated in a way that is unappealing and so easily throwawayable. Like people make jokes at Freud's expense constantly but when you really begin to take the role of observer and watch peoples behaviorisms and manners he's totally right(so was skinner, Jung, and Lacan I imagine in their own way although I have no idea of the latter twos ideas fully consist of).
