It really doesn't matter where you start. If you enjoy his writing you should check out his autobiography at some point though.
Just don't take him too seriously and look for philosophical depth. He's a prose stylist and enjoyed himself at that first and foremost. In German he reads rather light and comical, not heavy and ponderous at all.
