A Congregation of Jackals is 7/10 gritty violent noir that he definitely pulled some aspects of bone tomahawk from. Will read more of his works due to my satisfaction at his comic book level violence and cliches. He is at least honest and not pretentious.

First of all I love his movies, but I read the first page or two of Wraiths and dropped it immediately. Utterly repulsive prose, I would put it up there with the first page of a Logo Deadalus novel for things that got me to immediately stop.

I watched the bone tomahawk re;view and the canadian said that he described the moon as "a clipped fingernail on a sea of cotton" and that is fucking retarded

you cant expect high prose, its pure schlock like /sffg/. His movies are pretty good representations of the books.

Conan doesn't read like that, he's a good filmmaker, the only issue is his ugly ass colour grading

Howard and Lovecraft are overwrought prose from a century ago. Zahler's predecessors are Nazi erotica and detectives from the 60s.
