Ray Bradbury is a big fat faggot and has never written a good book in his life.

Finally, a post you can believe in!

I remember reading his crappy short stories at secondary school, and disliking them. A few years later, I thought maybe I was just a dumb kid, and that I should give him another try. I bought Fahrenheit 451, and didn't like it either. Good ideas, but poorly realised. No wonder he's dead.

Your opinion sure is different from mine.

I love Ray Bradbury, he's got some great short stories. Fahrenheit 451 is also one of my top five books.

Why are we still pretending there is any objective "good" anything? Is it because it's rethorically stronger to say "x sucks" rather than "I found x to be sucky"? Why do we feel the need to appeal to an imaginary greater fixed standard for values, do we feel so weak by ourselves, without some imaginary backup?
I mean what's even the point, in a forum like this, it all comes down to tribalism if you put things that way. Do you need to validate yourself so much? Are you so frustrated that you need to compensate on the internet? Can't we just talk about the whys and the whats made you like a book/author so that by reading new perspectives something productive can come out of a discussion?
Also why was Bradbury such an asshole?

I thought 451 was a decent book. Has anyone read his Martian Chronicles?

Fahrenheit was a great book, but the guy comes across as a huge douchebag in every interview or video I have seen of him.

The guy is 90. I would be pissed if I was that old too.

He looks just like Frank Carson. Next time I read any of his work it'll be in an Irish accent. Fuck.

I've always liked Bradbury's short stories. The only novel I read was Fahrenheit 451, which isn't a favourite but I still enjoyed it. I love The Veldt and The Illustrated Man.

Pic related: it's his advice for kids. Dat stationary.
