This is the only book that explains our current situation and /lit/ should get on it.

True, but at least they were tolerable skeptics and not, like Skepticism as a paradigm, painfully insufferable.

If a book explains our situation and is also a national bestseller, then why do people continue to not understand the situation or fail to devise solutions? Obviously mainstream books cannot have explained the fundamentals of problems that currently and still exist.

read fellow teachers by rieff

The book is pretty boring, I've read it. HOWEVER you can hear him lecture on YouTube and he is supremely entertaining. Also Saul Bellow wrote a very comfy book about his friendship with him.

Because one thing is learning and another is taking action. The same people that read are not taking action anon. Also, the people that need to read this book will never read this book.

If you liked this you've gotta read Ravelstein, which is a novel about Allan Bloom (named Ravelstein in the book) written by his pal Saul Bellow. Though a minor work it's my favorite Bellow.
