I've never read interpretation of dreams / tried and it didn't interest me, so if you don't like that (which is where people usually recommend to start) then you might like his other stuff

I started with Totem and Taboo, but I think Interpretation of Dreams is better to begin with. Keep in mind that Freud was so based that he still makes people seethe nearly a hundred years after his death. You'll be seeing some of that in this thread soon I'm sure ; )
