I'm at 41 books of my 100+ book goal, see picture for specific titles. Favourites so far are: The Feast of the Goat; The Easter Parade; Wilderness Tips; Revolutionary Road; Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell; Strong Motion. Special mention goes to The Man in the High Castle and The Pale King, for being weird and cool. Worst books were: after the quake, The Painted Veil; Islands in the Sky. They were all very painful, and a waste of time, money and effort.

Post your own lists, and favourite and least favourite books.

Interesting choices OP. I'm interested in Alan Bennett's new "Smut". You can find youtube videos of him reading bits of his new book...

There is an interesting review of The Pale King in The New York Review of Books this month

Okay, I suppose. First half was really good, couldn't wait to find out what happened next, second half (with the exception of the last 10 pages or so) was meh. Some great moments between characters though, and the premise is excellent, i.e. both Germany and Japan have conquered America. Better than something like Fatherland.

Not very far at all, the challenge function in GR daily becomes a bigger icon in my periphery that I'm spending too much time lurking here.

The best book so far award goes to Steps (Kosinski), and the worst goes to The Rush for Second place (posthumous essay collection, Gaddis)

I'm going to go finish The Pale King now.
