Crazy how did you avoid reading all those years? In my country we are forced to read a dozen novels in school at least. If you count them out though I can see someone without reading parents just enjoying other media. I am mostly a cancerous genre shit faggot that doesn't read highly regarded literary works of art. I just don't care about it. I only care about the aspect of fleeing into another reality and so I do not need a guy that has been dead for 200 years to tell me what he thinks about life on earth I rather read about life on another world.

I was never particularly interested in books, and when I confronted them in high school I developed a mild contempt for the medium. I was more of an anime & vidya person but got disillusioned with both because of the sense of dread and hopelessness that accompany passive consumption. I yearned for something more and that's when I found /lit/
now I have an activity that I enjoy very much
I understand reading for amusement but why are you so averse to philosophy? I think it can be really engrossing and illuminating
