I don’t know why others like it, but I really liked the apathetic, cold narrator. That’s why it hooked me. But I recently discovered I like really detached, cold writing like Robbie-Grillet, Patrick Modiano, JG Ballard, Margurite Duras, Sayaka Murata, and so on.
