Books don't work like that, anon. You need to turn yourself into something attractive. Books are not accessories.

The only way to get someone to talk to you while reading is to pick a book so offensive to the average reader that a girl will eventually ask you about it. "Ugh! Why are you reading the private journals of Ayn Rand!?" Bingo. She's talking to you

I guess Yeats and Proust and Wordsworth and that sort of stuff signal the the poetic sensitive type thats idealized a lot
Other than that there really isnt any. At best certain authors can reflect a certain personality type, but the books alone are never enough.
They can form a sort of litmus test for your personality though, and to some extend what books you read can either improve or worsen your personality.

The one main thing to avoid both for yourself and for signalling to others is only reading books that confirm your worldview.
being really into one philosopher only (usually Plato or Nietzsche), or only reading books from that specific niche of 'dudes suffering' (DFW, Dostoevsky, Hemingway, you know the memes) are classic red flags because of this.
note that none of these authors are really red flags on their own, its only when your taste ls limited to just those that you come off as close minded rather than well read.

What is it with this dilemma people argue about? IT'S BOTH! If you're too ugly, you'll be unattractive even if you groom yourself well, and sometimes a disgusting chad still gets a girl, but for people in the middle of the bell curve, grooming can, and for the most part does, make the difference.

You cant maintain a relationship without social capital which means comformity which means normalcy which means consuming media smut. The /tv/ memes about the girl being turned off by a laptop with movies on it over using netflix are true. Its much worse if you dont watch listen play anything at all. You are boring and make her feel criticized for her shit sensibilities. This is why soys can manage some homely discarded concubine while they constantly look to upgrade.
