Do I have to re-read it and apply the rules of analytical reading?
Also, has the field of educational psychology progressed since then?

A lot, anon. This book is definitely not optimal by today standards. But still works, so whatever. And anons have allergies to textbooks.

The field probably not but you should develop your metaphysics prior to an educational psychology or literary theory

Educational psychology by definition has done nothing except make studies which change nothing. The trivium-quadrivium split is miles ahead of "if you eat corn flakes 30 minutes before a test and blink twice your grade could go up 0.035 points".

I don't. I did read a book named "How to read Philosophy," but it is in Portuguese. It is definitely better than the chapter about that on that book and I think it is almost the same size. There are some other stuff too, I usually notice that on textbooks, anon. If you 'meta-read' modern Psychology textbooks they are easy to spot. So there must be a better book about such things.
