Read the Drg-Drsya-Viveka.
Or watch this video from Swami Sarvapriyananda.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx7O2zDqi6I
It won't get you into any sort of religious perspective, but will make you perceive some stuff that are quite obvious in your own life which will make you "expand" your thought beyond this blackpill.

KEK OP, check this passage out of a Philosophy textbook (Voyage of Discovery) talking about William James:

James recorded his struggles in a diary entry writ- ten in 1870, when
he was twenty-eight and one year out of medical school. He apparently
found relief from his torments in the form of a decisive philo- sophic
commitment of the sort that Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, and Dostoevsky
would have appreciated. James resolved that if he was to go on living
and find any sort of meaning at all in life, he would have to commit
himself to the thesis that free will is not an illusion and base his
actions on that conviction:

My first act of free will shall be to believe in free will… . I will
go a step further with my will, not only act with it, but believe as
well; believe in my individual reality and creative power… . Life
shall be built in doing and suffering and creating. 5

Although this was a turning point in his life, it would be a mistake
(and some have made this mis- take) to suppose James is simply saying,
“Believe what you find it pleasant to believe,” without any further
qualifications. Certainly, when logical or empirical considerations
can decisively resolve an issue, James would say our beliefs must be
subservient to reason and the facts. However, he says that in some
issues of vital importance logic and science do not clearly guide us
one way or another, because the objective facts are consistent with
different interpretations. In these cases, James offers us the
following rule:

Of two competing views of the universe which in all other respects are
equal, but of which the first denies some vital human need while the
second satisfies it, the second will be favored by sane men for the
simple reason that it makes the world seem more rational. (MT preface)

Take the Vedic-Science-pill, anon.

“The sun has tied Earth and
other planets through attraction
and moves them around itself as
if a trainer moves newly trained
horses around itself holding their

“O Indra! by putting forth your
mighty rays, which possess the
qualities of gravitation and
attraction-illumination and
motion – keep up the netire
universe in order through the
Power of your attraction.” (Rig Veda 8.12.28)

“The sun moves in its own orbit
but holding earth and other
heavenly bodies in a manner that
they do not collide with each
other through force of attraction." (Rig Veda 1.35.9)

“Sun moves in its orbit which
itself is moving. Earth and other
bodies move around sun due to
force of attraction, because sun is
heavier than them." (Rig Veda 1.164.13)

“The sun moves in its own orbit
in space taking along with itself
the mortal bodies like earth
through force of attraction.” (Yajur Veda 33.43)

“The sun has held the earth and
other planets” (Atharva Veda 4.11.1)

“The moving moon always
receives a ray of light from sun” (Rig Veda 1.84.15)

“O Sun! When you are blocked
by the one whom you gifted your
own light (moon), then earth gets
scared by sudden darkness.” (Rig Veda 5.40.5)

Are you retarded OP? You give meaning to your life; maybe you want to dedicate your life to contribute something to society, then the meaning of your life would be "contribute to society". Maybe you want to have a family, then family would be the meaning of your life, maybe you want to dedicate yourself to a hobby, I don't know man, there are many things to enjoy in this life, if you don't know where to begin you should start doing things randomly until something clicks with you.

"Fool" is an inappropriate word here, but I definitely feel something like this. To "decide" on a meaning is easy, but to actually live it is very hard. The force of a mere decision is not enough to sustain you on your quest for a meaningful life.

Not OP but for me you learn that the bible makes tons of unfounded claims that contradict modern science, and it seems like science has a better method of determine descriptive truths than the bible (ie, how old is the earth?)

For me religion just feels like a lot of superstition supported by our caveman instincts that helped us survive in the wild but don't help us determine truth about reality.

Meaning is entirely subjective and you can create yours, OP. It might sound like a cope but it really isn't. Alternatively, if it's your cup of tea, you might seek religion, but avoid shit like this >>17262108 that tries to "prove" its validity by cherrypicking its scripture to accomodate scientific theories that aren't meant to be dogmatic truths in the first place.

>in some issues of vital importance logic and science do not clearly guide us one way or another
Free will isn't an issue of that kind. Throughout history, it has become increasingly obvious that the very notion of "free will" is chimeric. As Nietzsche put it, you would have to bring yourself in existence out of nothing in order to truly be responsible for your actions and your constitutions, but nobody has that kind of divine power. Everything you do is a result of your genes and of the circumstances in which you find yourself.
