Tell me, /lit/, when you start writing a story, what do you mostly use ? Pen and paper or just type at your computer ?

computer, but i change the font to WINDINGS so im not tempted to go back and edit.

>> No.1725971

I think most'll say computer, but I honestly prefer to write on paper first and then type it up.

Notepad, no capital letters

wouldn't that kill... i dunno... spontaneity ? I mean you get an idea, you can immediately take a pen and paper and write it. You can't carry a computer with you all the time, and you don't know when the creativity flashes strike.

Wingdings & no capital letters? Why are you guys making writing so wacky?

I just write in my note or sketchbook, whichever is on hand. Or a napkin. Writing on a computer is too distracting unless I'm just copying down & editing from my handwritten stuff.

Notepad the program, I mean

computer...ive found that my best writing is on the computer actually. If i set down with pen and paper my handwriting is slower than my typing and my mind starts making things too wordy. Not to mention the speed of typing lets me capture more ideas and faster. Sometimes though if I have a really awesome scene that I don't want to lose, I will draw it in a sketch book. It lets me catch the imagery and write about it later...im a bit of visual thinker.

Notepad++, anything other than electronic input is pointless these days.

Sage for faggot OP unneccessarily using a tripcode.

That's a neat question, OP, and I'm glad you asked it.

I heard some people say that computers were good things for a man to write with.

Storys with computer, poems just appear in my head so I write those down by hand.

But then you also got to consider that I am not well-acquainted with many electronic goods. I am especially not versed in softwares, programs, or "false machinery", as I call it.

and a man who writes with false machinery is a fancy man, and a fancy man is no kind of man at all.

I'm still Anonymous, or do you know my real name ? No, I didn't think so.

Like the Ring of Gyges, your lack of identity makes you lose control, post whatever you want without concern for consequences. Tripcode users have a canon among their posts, if we shitpost it haunts us. How about you ? You're probably one of the worst contributors on the board, yet nobody knows it because you're Anonymous.

So tell me, what is the point of an Anonymous board ?

I prefer to use a typewriter, both for the aesthetic, and that it forces me to narrow my focus and write something initially without error.

For drafts, brainstorming, automatic writing, or whatever else I'll use my computer. If I want a finished product, I'll use a typewriter.

If I'm not at my home, and I want to write, mechanical pencil + legal pad.
